Somatic Sex Therapy
& Counselling
The term "somatic" refers to anything related to the body, especially as distinct from the mind. In therapeutic contexts, somatic practices focus on the body’s sensations, movements, and physical experiences, often exploring how emotions, trauma, and psychological states are experienced and stored within the body. Somatic approaches are commonly used in body-centered therapies like somatic psychotherapy and somatic bodywork to foster healing, self-awareness, and emotional regulation through embodied practice.

ARE YOU CURIOUS TO EXPLORE OR EXPERIENCE:
Many things can be explored or experienced through Somatic Sex Therapy or sexological bodywork. Some examples include:
Physical techniques: Sexological bodywork can involve various physical techniques, such as sensate focus exercises, which involve focusing on touch and sensation to increase arousal and pleasure. Other physical techniques may include massage or other forms of touch, as well as exercises that help to improve sexual function or address physical issues that may be impacting sexual performance.
Emotional and psychological issues: Sexological bodywork can also help men explore and address emotional and psychological issues that may be impacting their sexual experiences. This can include performance anxiety, past traumas, or negative beliefs about sex.
Communication skills: Sexological bodywork can help men develop better communication skills with themselves and their partners. This can involve learning how to express one's own needs and boundaries and how to listen and respond to the needs of others.
Intimacy: Sexological bodywork can help men deepen their emotional and physical connections with their partners. This can involve exploring new ways of touching and communicating and learning to be present and fully engaged in the moment.
Overall well-being: Engaging in sexological bodywork can positively impact men's well-being. It can help reduce stress, improve self-esteem, and promote relaxation and pleasure.

What is Somatic Sex Therapy
Somatic Sex Therapy - or sexbod - is Somatic (hands-on) sex education. We specialise in men’s health and welcome everyone regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity.
Somatic Sex Therapy is a form of sex therapy that focuses on helping men improve their sexual function, body awareness, communication skills, and overall well-being. It involves techniques such as sensate focus and Sensor motor psychotherapy exercises that can address physical, emotional, and psychological issues impacting sexual performance. By engaging in Somatic Sex Therapy, men can learn to relax, express their needs and boundaries, and deepen their emotional and physical connections with their partners. Overall, Somatic Sex Therapy can be an effective way to improve sexual satisfaction, enhance overall well-being, explore unresolved Trauma in the body and to explore the benefits of embodiment for yourself and partners.
We often develop a variety of sexual challenges that can manifest as erectile dysfunction, ejaculation control challenges, low to almost no sex drive, anxiety around sex, and general intimacy/communication issues. These can compromise your self-confidence and undermine your relationship with yourself and others. Sexbod helps rehabilitate unhealthy attitudes towards body image and sex, intimacy & pleasure in a safe and supported way that is free of judgment. At Body Curious, you can explore your unique erotic landscape under the guidance of a certified Somatic Sex Therapist and Counsellor.

What is Embodied Counselling?
Emotional well-being is critical to a fulfilled life. Our Embodied counselling sessions provide a safe space for men to express themselves, explore emotions, and work through personal or relationship challenges. Session support healing through curiosity and supporting you toward balance, understanding, and self-discovery.
An embodied Counselling journey taps into the body's innate wisdom, intertwining it with the complexities of the mind. It's an approach that invites curiosity, encouraging individuals to explore their physical sensations, emotions, and thoughts in an integrated manner. Through this exploration, individuals can uncover their hidden aspects, heal from past traumas, and find a renewed sense of balance and well-being. Embracing curiosity in this process allows for a gentle unfolding of the self, fostering an authentic connection with the body and mind. Whether facing emotional challenges or seeking personal growth, embodied counselling offers a pathway to healing that is both profound and deeply human. It's about being present, curious, and embracing the totality of who we are.
